About Sung Yun Min


Born in Seoul, South Korea, Sung Min began playing the piano at the age of six and singing at the age of twelve.

A lyric soprano, Sung Min has been a passionate singer all her life.

Sung got her BM in Voice Performance at the Catholic University in South Korea. Her passion only grew stronger when she pursued graduate studies at San Jose State University, where she performed as Cio-Cio San in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly and the Countess in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with the San Jose State University Opera. She studied bel canto opera in Italy under conductor Marco Bohemi and has a deep appreciation for the works of French composer Henri Duparc. Currently she is pursuing a doctorate in music at California Arts University, where she is also teaching classical voice.

Sung teaches lessons in both English and Korean. She is a judge for the America Youth Talent International Music Competition, the San Francisco International Young Artist Music Competition, and the Young Talent Student Music Contest. Always striving to understand and honor a composer’s intent, she values the balance between technical precision and emotional depth in both her performances and her teaching.
